The charitable institution of the Meena Ma Shanti Trust has been founded, with God`s blessings, in Kerala, Southern India!
On the evening of 24th December 2003, the holy feast of Christmas Eve, the Archbishop of the local diocese helped us call the Trust into being.
At the end of 2003, a plot of land measuring 4,000 m² was bought on the Malabar-coast where it is planned to build a childrens village. The miraculous story of the journey to establish the children's village in India can be found in full in the travelogue.
A person experiences their greatest sense of development when in the service of his neighbour, and in sharing with his brothers and sisters - that is a basic Divine principle.
With the support and help of many people who have heard the call to share, the vision of the childrens village will become reality.
It is Meena Mas vision and heart-felt wish to give these children a home filled with love, shelter and warmth, so that they can realize and develop the real value of their innermost Divine being.
The basic unifying thought behind all world religions should be:
"If you are a Christian, be a good Christian. If you are a Hindu, be a good Hindu. If you are a Moslem, be a good Moslem. If you are a Buddhist, be a good Buddhist."
The childrens village, as it is planned, will be based on the principle of the Hermann-Gmeiner-Fund SOS Childrens Villages. In each house, a foster mother will live with and be responsible for the care of 6-12 children, creating a family which will provide the love, care and warmth every child needs to grow up happily.
If you wish to support the Meena Ma Shanti Trust with a donation, please feel very welcome to do so.
